Effective management of human resources is essential for creating successful organizational results. As a part of doing business, nonprofit organizations must be aware of and adhere to all legal employment requirements, exercise fair and equitable HR practices that attract and retain qualified individuals, and provide a safe work environment. The Squeaky Clean HR Series will help nonprofit leaders and HR staff to provide a safe, welcoming, and productive work environment while protecting their employees and their organization from harmful and illegal practices.
Days, weeks, months, years of our lives are slipping away in stuffy, overcrowded conference rooms and nobody seems to be doing anything about it. Eleven million business meetings are held in the U.S. every day, and often they bring down morale and blow holes in the workday, and then another round of meetings is called! Do you spend a lot of time in meetings with no clear agenda or timeframe, discussing items irrelevant to your role, repeating conversations over and over, dominated by personalities? Do you wonder when you'll have time to actually do the work? Welcome to meeting hell. Professionals attend nearly 60 meetings per month and research indicates that over 50% of meeting time is wasted.
