"Employee Handbooks – Preparation and Updating of Employer Policies"

TOPIC: The last several years have seen a dramatic shift in the expectations related to employee handbooks.  State and Federal law standards have created employer mandates for policy modifications related to:

  • employee conduct,

  • disability accommodation,
  • harassment prevention,
  • retaliation prevention,
  • confidentiality,
  • trade secrets,
  • use of company technology,
  • social media,
  • whistleblowers,
  • bring your own device,
  • weapons at work,
  • drug testing,
  • gender issues,
  • mandated sick time,
  • pay issues,
  • Affordable Care Act,
  • accommodation leaves, and
  • many other topics.

With this new wave of required new of policies demanded by various agencies, employee handbook are required to evolve.  At this session, Scott S. Moore will discuss the most recent modifications required for employer policies and how to best communicate those changes through the employee handbook.
